GAF Timberline Shingle Roof Replacement in Spring Hill, FL
The Project
A Spring Hill homeowner in Hernando County needed roughly 24 squares replaced on a home whose roof had reached the end of its service life. Hernando County is one of the stricter jurisdictions in West Central Florida on roofing documentation, and the county now requires a notarized roofing inspection affidavit and a product approval sheet naming every component installed. That paperwork is not optional and it is a common reason a homeowner's job sits unclosed for months after the crew has gone home.
Our Approach
The permit was issued as Hernando County SIC-002627-2026 and a Notice of Commencement was recorded before any material was delivered. The crew tore the old roof off to the deck, re nailed the decking to current code, and covered the full surface in GAF FeltBuster synthetic underlayment.
TAMCO galvanized drip edge went on the eaves and rakes, GAF Pro Start starter shingles ran along both edges, and the field was laid in GAF Timberline UHDZ architectural shingles in Barkwood, a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rated shingle. The ridge was capped in GAF Timbertex in the matching Barkwood. The install ran on August 19, 2026.
We close the permit ourselves rather than leaving it to the homeowner. The notarized affidavit, the completed product approval continuation sheet, the in progress and final photos and the recorded NOC all went to the county as one package.
The Outcome
The home has a complete GAF roof system in a color that reads warm against the block and stucco common in Spring Hill, a permit closed out on the county record, and the manufacturer warranty behind it. When you sell a house in Florida, an open roofing permit becomes a title issue. Closing it is part of the job, not a favor.
