Emergency Roof Repair in Tampa
Storm damage, an active leak, or a roof blown open. We prioritize emergencies ahead of scheduled work, tarp it off to stop the water, then come back and fix it right. Licensed Florida Certified Roofing Contractor, CCC1337501.
Water Is Getting In. Call, Do Not Wait.
In Florida a roof emergency compounds by the hour. Water that gets past the roof deck runs down rafters, soaks insulation, saturates drywall, and finds electrical. What starts as a stained ceiling turns into mold and framing damage in a matter of days, and the repair bill grows the entire time. The single most valuable thing you can do is get the water stopped, and that is a phone call, not a form.
Call 352-269-3355. On an active leak or an open roof we move you ahead of scheduled work and get a Scotti Family roofer out as fast as we can, typically same day or next day.
What We Treat as an Emergency
- Active interior leak. Water dripping through a ceiling, running down a wall, or pooling in an attic.
- Blown-off or peeled-back roofing. Shingles, panels, or tile gone after a storm, leaving the underlayment or bare deck exposed.
- Tree or limb strike. Anything that has punctured the deck or crushed a section of roof.
- Storm and wind damage. Post-hurricane and tropical storm damage where the roof is open to the next band of rain.
- Failed flashing or a blown pipe boot mid-storm. Small openings that move a surprising amount of water in a Florida downpour.
- Commercial flat roof failure. Open seams, torn membrane, or ponding over an occupied space.
How an Emergency Call Goes
- You call. Tell us where the water is coming in and what the roof looks like from the ground. Photos help if you have them.
- Emergency tarp-off. We get the roof covered and dried in so the next rain does not add to the damage. This is a stop-gap, not the repair.
- Damage assessment. We document the roof and the interior damage with photos, the way an insurance carrier wants it.
- Written estimate. You get the permanent repair scope and price in writing, and a copy you can hand your adjuster.
- Permanent repair. We fix the cause, not just the symptom, and back the work with a written workmanship warranty.
What to Do Before We Get There
- Contain the water. Bucket under the drip, move furniture and electronics clear.
- Photograph everything. Ceiling, walls, wet contents, and the roof from the ground. Timestamped photos are the backbone of an insurance claim.
- Stay off the roof. A wet or storm-damaged roof is genuinely dangerous, and a fall costs more than the roof does.
- Call your carrier. Open the claim early. Most Florida policies cover reasonable emergency measures like tarping to prevent further damage, so keep every receipt.
Emergency Repair and Your Insurance Claim
Storm damage in Florida usually runs through a claim, and how the first 48 hours are documented shapes how that claim lands. We photograph the damage before we tarp, again after, and provide a written, itemized estimate you can submit. If the damage turns out to be widespread rather than localized, we will tell you plainly that you are looking at a full replacement instead of a repair, and document it that way. More on the claim side at storm damage.
Where We Respond
All of West Central Florida, residential and commercial: Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Manatee, Sarasota, Polk, and Citrus counties. That includes Tampa, Clearwater, Spring Hill, and Brooksville.
Emergency Roof Repair FAQ
What counts as a roofing emergency?
Water actively coming into the house, a section of roof blown off or peeled back, a tree or limb through the deck, or storm damage that has left the roof open to the next rain. If water is getting in right now, treat it as an emergency and call us.
How fast can you get out here?
For an active leak or an open roof we prioritize you ahead of scheduled work and get out as fast as we can, usually same day or next day. Call 352-269-3355 rather than submitting a form, because the phone is the fastest way to reach us on an emergency.
What should I do before you arrive?
Move what you can out of the water and put a bucket under the drip. Photograph everything, the ceiling, the walls, the wet contents, and the roof from the ground if it is safe. Those photos matter for your insurance claim. Do not get on the roof yourself, a wet or storm-damaged roof is how people get hurt.
Do you tarp the roof?
Yes. An emergency tarp is a stop-gap that keeps water out until the weather clears and a permanent repair can be scheduled. It is not the fix, it is what buys you the time to get the fix done right.
Will insurance cover emergency roof repair?
If the damage came from a named storm or high winds, usually yes, and most Florida policies also cover reasonable emergency measures like tarping to prevent further damage. Keep every receipt and photo, file the claim, and we will provide a written estimate to submit.
Do you handle commercial emergency roof repair?
Yes. Flat and low-slope commercial roofs get the same emergency response as residential. Ponding water and open seams on a commercial roof do damage fast, so do not sit on it. See our commercial roofing page for what we install on flat buildings.
