Properties inside Ocala city limits go through the City of Ocala building department. Unincorporated Marion County addresses go through Marion County Building Safety. Is my Ocala home in the city or the county?
An Ocala mailing address does not settle it. The City of Ocala and Marion County run separate building departments, and plenty of addresses that say Ocala are actually unincorporated county. We check the property record before we file so it goes to the right office.
My roof has black streaks. Is it failing?
Usually not. Those streaks are algae, and under Ocala's oak canopy they are extremely common on north-facing slopes that stay damp. It is cosmetic. What we look for instead is granule loss, lifted or cracked shingles, and what the flashing and penetrations are doing.
Do you work on horse farms and barns?
Yes. Outbuildings are usually metal and we do both exposed-fastener and standing seam. We price the house and the outbuildings separately so you can stage the work if you would rather not do it all at once.
