We install concrete tile roofing set to the Florida high wind standard. The tile can outlast the house; the underlayment under it is what wears out first, so that layer is where we put the work.
How we build it
- The old roof comes off down to the deck, and rotten wood is replaced
- A two-ply underlayment: a base sheet fastened to the deck and a self adhered cap sheet bonded over it
- Concrete tile set in foam adhesive to the Florida high wind standard
- Hip and ridge trim tile
- The permit, the county inspection, cleanup and a final walk-through
Before you choose tile
Tile is heavy, roughly 600 to 1,100 pounds per square against about 250 for architectural shingle. A home built for tile carries it fine. A home moving from shingle to tile needs an engineer to confirm the structure before we can price it.
Choosing the tile
You pick the profile and color from manufacturer samples, and every standard color is the same price. Pitches over 7 in 12 are quoted separately.
Lifetime workmanship warranty. It stays with your house.
A tile roof we tear off and replace carries our workmanship warranty for the lifetime of the roof, in writing. Sell the house and it goes to the buyer automatically: free, no paperwork.
