This shingle roof replacement in Spring Hill, Hernando County, started with the old roof torn off down to the decking and finished with a clean new roof going on course by course, in two working days.
What went on
The crew stripped the old roof to the wood, checked the decking and laid a fresh synthetic underlayment over the whole deck before a single shingle went down. A new starter strip and Owens Corning Oakridge architectural shingles followed, about 25 squares in all. Each shingle was nailed six to the shingle, the pattern that earns the full 130 mph Florida high wind rating.
The finishing details
The ridge and hips are capped with Owens Corning ProEdge, so the lines you see from the street stay straight and sharp. Every course was checked as it went on, so the finished roof reads as clean from the ground as it does up close.
